It is really crazy! Thousands of "Gurus" are out there promoting their "Secret" to online marketing or traffic generation. Why? If I had a secret way to generate traffic I would write it down, work it and prove that it worked, then chew up the paper I wrote it down on and never tell anyone. You know the saying "There is a sucker born every minute"? Well I was the sucker from the minute I was born. I have tried just about everything I can try (without selling blood) to build a decent website that has decent traffic and (and this is the big one) has decent sales. It is very easy to get a website. You can spend thousands or just go to eBay and buy a website already built for just about anything you want to sell or do on the internet. But after years of trying, I've come to the conclusion that getting the website is the easy part, traffic and sales is the hard part. I have bought all kinds of "programs" and "systems".... Some were in theory, a great concept, but after following all instructions they turned out to be duds. For instance, posting to Yahoo Groups, I signed up for a ton of groups and used this great software to send emails to the groups, but if everyone did what I did, set up an email address to automatically delete all the incoming emails they got, who exactly was seeing the email posts? Not anyone at all. And how about "auto surf" sites? If everyone is starting up a program and walks away from their PC, the program "auto surfs" to the sites, brings them up for 20 seconds, then goes to the next site, who is viewing the site? Not anyone at all. Catching the theme here? Sure you can get alot of traffic, but no one is buying anything and no one is clicking on anything on your site. What I truly would like to find is someone out there that has a proven "system" that works 100%, and would let me try it to verify that it works on my website, then charge me after it has made me some money where I could afford to pay for the system. People that "claim" their system will work for you get your money, and when it does not work, they are hard to find. Show me the results, that is what I want to see. I make no claims to know anything about online marketing. All I know are the things I have tried, and none have worked for me. I know there are people out there that are in the same boat. So, here is my challenge to all the people out there that think they have the end all beat all to generating huge amounts of clicks or traffic, clicks and traffic that generate sales that is.
